Danone would sell its bottled mineral water brands to a Japanese company
The Paris-based Danone would sell its Evian and Volvic bottled mineral water brands to the Japanese Suntory.
In the scope of non-public negotiations Danone would sell its two brands of mineral water, Evian and Volvic to Suntory to Japanese Suntory until the end of the year.
One of the reason of the sale to create capitals for a bid to Pfizer, which affects the pharmaceutical company's infant nutrition section. The other reason is that although the division of Danone's mineral water has increased, but the growth remained below the group's average.
The French food company's sales rose by an unexpected 11 percent – writes mfor.hu.
