The producer price of chicken rose by 15 percent, and that of turkey by 22 percent
According to AKI PÁIR data, the live weight producer price of slaughter chickens in Hungary rose by 15 percent to HUF 485.71/kilogram, and that of slaughter turkeys by 22 percent to HUF 669/kilogram in the first forty-eight weeks of 2023 compared to the same period in 2022.

According to data from the European Commission, the EU average price of whole chicken in the first forty-eight weeks of 2023 was 264.85 euros/100 kilograms, which represents a 5 percent increase compared to the previous year. The Hungarian price rose by 16 percent to HUF 959/kilogram in the same comparison. According to AKI PÁIR data, the processing sales price of chicken breast fillets increased by 3 percent to HUF 1,916/kilogram, the price of chicken breast (in total) by 3 percent to HUF 1,884/kilogram, and chicken thighs by 8 percent to HUF 904/kilogram, while bone-in chicken breast increased by 7 percent to HUF 1,248/kilogram decreased to kilograms in the first forty-eight weeks of 2023 compared to the same period in 2022.
