Coca-Cola Hungary has been supporting the work of the Hungarian Red Cross for 10 years
Coca-Cola Hungary and the Hungarian Red Cross have been working together for years to make the everyday life of those living in poverty as easy as possible. In recognition of this, Coca-Cola Hungary received a commemorative card from the Hungarian Red Cross for the outstanding support provided to the organization in connection with the humanitarian crisis. They have more than 10 years of partnership, and in the past two years, the focus of their joint work has been on mitigating the humanitarian disaster caused by the coronavirus epidemic and the war in Ukraine.
In April 2020, Coca-Cola Hungary – in response to the situation caused by the coronavirus epidemic – announced the “Help instead of advertising” campaign, within the framework of which it offered its own advertising spaces and social media channels to the Hungarian Red Cross in order to spread the word about staying at home, maintaining health, and donating blood. , public interest messages about donations reach as many people as possible. In addition, the Hungarian Red Cross received support from the tender launched by The Coca-Cola Foundation, which was used to help people in difficult situations due to the coronavirus: temporary homes for families operated by the Hungarian Red Cross, beneficiaries of homeless care institutions and services, and elderly people without work those who remained, those in quarantine – primarily in the form of food, hygiene, cleaning agent packages and psychosocial assistance.
Since June 2021, the Hungarian Red Cross has distributed 2,618 food packages and 200 special BABY PACKAGE packages to those in need, with particular attention to expectant mothers and families expecting a baby. By the end of the year, the Red Cross was able to support 10,472 people across the country, and the support strengthened the capacity of the most important Hungarian health institutions.
