Doritos partners with Burger King to launch new Whopper flavour
Doritos has partnered with Burger King to launch brand new Flame-Grilled Whopper flavoured tortilla chips.
The collaboration’s snack claims to ‘taste deliciously close’ to the fast food chain’s signature burger, which typically includes flame-grilled beef, fresh tomatoes, onions and pickles.
While the new Doritos flavour looks to replicate that of a Whopper, the snack is certified suitable for vegans.
Available nationwide as of yesterday (7 March), the launch will be supported by an on-pack promotion, offering consumers a chance to receive a free Whopper meal when they buy a selected meal at Burger King.
The promotion will run across Doritos sharing formats in 180g, 230g and 70g, and will be open until 30 October 2023.
“It’s not every day that two iconic brands like Doritos and Burger King come together. So, when the idea of launching the infamous flavour of the Whopper in an even more accessible format arose, we couldn’t resist,” Doritos UK marketing director, Lee-Tong Houston said.
“Our shoppers are continually looking for bolder flavours and taste experiences – and this is exactly what we are giving them. The new flavour adds excitement and innovation to the category, and we expect it will fly off the shelves – consumers simply won’t be able to resist.”
Burger King UK marketing director, Katie Evans added: “We’ve been secretly working on Whopper Doritos for the past year and we’re incredibly proud to unveil this epic collaboration – in snack form.
