The Budapest Airport expects two million less passengers because of the Malév
The Budapest Airport’s passenger number is expected to reduce by 2 million, compared to the planned, due to the stop of Malév – told Michael Hardy, Budapest Airport's director of communications to MTI.
This year, the airport operator expected 9.2 million passengers, but due to the elimination of the national airline the Malév 1.5 million transit passengers have been already “lost”. Although many airlines have indicated that they start new flights or expand their capacity, the vacuum left by Malév is not completely replaced, so that the Budapest Airport had to modify this year's projections – reports MTI.
