One sixth of the VAT is not collected in the EU Member States
Due to the non-payments of dues or inadequate recovery the Member States of the European Union loose more than 177 billion euros fiscal revenue – according to a study published by the European Commission on Thursday on the basis of 2012 data.
According to the research VAT is collected the most effectively in the European Union, in the Netherlands, Finland and Luxembourg, while the VAT collection is the least effective in Romania. (Konsiczky Zoltán, MTI)
