Baby food experiencing the largest sales growth in the speciality food market
Baby food experienced the largest sales growth in the specialty food market between 2006 and 2008, according to National Association for the Specialty Food Trade.
Specialty baby food generated $58 million in sales at retail (excluding Wal-Mart and Trader Joe’s), a 69% increase from 2006, as described in the report. “People are willing to spend on quality baby food and parents want to buy the best products on the market with no additives, preservatives, genetically modified ingredients, synthetic fertilizers, antibiotics, high-fructose corn syrup or pesticides.
