With BAT’s additional investment of HUF 60 billion, a new production center for smokeless products will be created in Pécs
The investment announced today by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Péter Szijjártó, shows BAT’s commitment to reducing the health effects of its business activities by realizing a smoke-free world. The new production center will focus on the production of less harmful* alternatives to cigarettes, emphasizing the production of herbal heating sticks and nicotine pads.
As a result of the investment, the production unit in Pécs will become one of the largest facilities producing smoke-free alternatives in the world. The HUF 60 billion investment is the largest investment to date, which has been realized during BAT’s more than 30 years of presence in Hungary.
By developing the current nicotine pad production capacity, the production unit will be expanded by 16 more production lines. In addition, the plans include the construction of a new 7,500 square meter production hall. The production of tobacco-free, herbal heating sticks is coming to Pécs as a new production product category.
