Private labels generating growth in market of frankfurters made from poultry
Sales of frankfurters were up by 4 percent in the first nine months of 2008, compared to 2007. According to data from the ConsumerScan of GfK Hungária, this was the result of increased consumption by practically the same number of households. The difference in price between brands and private labels shrunk as a result of an increase in the price of private labels. However, sales of private labels still grew by 10 percent. Young households with children account for a higher than average part of consumers. Citizens of Budapest and large cities are also over represented among the consumers of frankfurters. This is also true for people with higher than average income.
