Jarvis, the robotic barista was unveiled at a trade show early last year, and now the MUJI coffee chain employs the robot in four of its North American shops.

Jarvis is not afraid to ask for a tip

Its mechanical arm can turn around and froth milk, and it expertly presses the ground coffee. The robot can create hot latte art or make an iced americano if the customer asks for it – and then it is best to thank Jarvis with a tip, because he never hesitates to ask for it. Jarvis can’t replace café staff yet, but he will certainly be much more independent in his work later on.

For now, the AI robot only works with coffee capsules
