The Hungarian winners
The first and only Hungarian winner at POPAI Global Awards was Béflex, with their NESCAFÉ Dolce Gusto coffeemaker display. From Nestlé’s side business manager János Fehér and category manager Gabriella Sára worked on the project, while from Béflex Krisztina Koroknai was responsible for sales tasks and László Szabó designed the display. The Nestlé-Béflex cooperation started with the launch of NESCAFÉ Dolce Gusto, when Béflex won the tender opened for display manufacturers. NESCAFÉ Dolce Gusto Circolo won RED DOT and IF product prizes, its design is modern and special and they wanted this special shape to be represented by the display too. According to Gabriella Sára, the key to success was the harmony between the product and the POS tool, the two had a multiplier effect together; the display is popular with retailers too and can still be found in the biggest electronics stores. The display itself is basically made from bent and painted mdf board. On the lighting back board there is a logoed foil; to make the display more exclusive and to preserve the character of Circolo’s shape the shelves were made from glass. NESCAFÉ Dolce Gusto display was exported to Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Greece and Portugal. László Szabó told that it was already a great professional acknowledgement to be awarded at the Hungarian POPAI Awards and the international recognition completely took them by surprise.
