The number of guest nights increased by 7.8%
The number of guest nights increased by 7.8%, despite a rising base due to the revival of tourist traffic following the gradual lifting of restrictions against the epidemic two years ago, and the expected decrease in demand due to the decrease in real wages.
Within this, the number of domestic guest nights increased by 1.6%, and the number of foreign guest nights increased by 15%, which shows the return of foreign guests. The sales revenue of the accommodations thus increased by 35% in November compared to a year ago, also reflecting the increase in prices. The recovery is still only partial compared to pre-epidemic levels, but at the same time, domestic tourism fully recovered in the summer months of last year, which resulted in a high base.
In the first eleven months, the number of guest nights increased by a total of 46.4%, of which the domestic ones increased by 18.6% and the foreign ones by 114.1%. After the gradual opening in May the year before last year, the turnover of the accommodation facilities significantly increased. As a result of the abatement of the epidemic and the high vaccination rate, almost all restrictions were lifted in many countries, which is why last year started with a favorable outlook, and more and more overseas flights are starting to return. The turnover of the accommodation facilities was also stimulated by the huge unsatisfied demand that had accumulated, a marked increase in the desire to travel can be observed worldwide, and a historic peak is expected in some tourist destinations.
