Nestle Water to Build EUR 7 Million Plant in Portugal
Work on the new facility in Coruche will start next week, with production beginning some time in 2009.

Waters Direct has announced it will build a new plant costing EUR 7
million in Portugal as part of an ambitious, growth strategy. The new
plant has an output capacity of over 28,000 litres of water and 1,500
industrial bottles an hour. Some 50 workers will be employed in the
4,000 sq m factory that has capacity for future expansion. The plant
will supply the Spanish and Portuguese markets.
The company said it expected annual
growth of 10% until 2010. Last year the Nestle Water Direct Portugal
posted EUR 15 million sales and sold 45 million litres of water.
