Spar Gran Canaria Invests €5.5m In Warehouse For Fresh Produce

Spar has announced that it has invested €5.5 million in a new fruit and vegetables distribution centre in the Canary Islands.

The distribution centre, located in Mercalaspalmas, will boost Spar Gran Canaria’s supply and distribution capacity by around 36%.

The new facility will enhance the quality of products and optimise processes that will improve the standard of fresh produce supply to Spar stores, the retailer said.

The refrigerated storage area spreads across ​​3,400 square metres, and is equipped with a state-of-the-art warehouse management system with voice picking technology.
