Retail sales augmented by 5.4 percent
In January 2019 like-for-like retail volume sales augmented by 5.4 percent; adjusted for calendar effects, the sales growth was the same – reported the Central Statistical Office (KSH). Food and food-type retail sales increased by 3.9 percent and non-food sales grew by 6.4 percent, while motor fuel volume sales rose 7.2 percent. 47 percent of retail sales was realised by food and food-types stores, 37 percent was non-food stores and filling stations were responsible for 16 percent of sales. //
