Food prices up more than 5 percent
Consumer prices were 2.9 percent higher in October 2019 than in October 2018. Food prices jumped 5.4 percent. Pork’s price augmented the most, by 15.5 percent. The price of bread increased by 6.7 percent. Seasonal product prices (potatoes, fresh fruits and vegetables) grew by 5.3 percent. Alcoholic drink and tobacco product prices jumped 8.4 percent. In comparison with September 2019, consumer prices rose 0.6 percent and the price of groceries was up 0.8 percent. Motor fuel prices augmented by 1.8 percent. //
