5. Foodconf: Where participants get a taste of food innovations
In November 2025, the FoodConf – International Conference on Food Science and Technology will be held in Budapest for the fifth time, bringing together food scientists once again. The conference is organized by the Institute of Food Science and Technology of MATE (Hungarian University of Agricultural and Life Sciences), with the support of the committees of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
The aim of the event is to bring together researchers, engineers, academics and industry professionals – in the form of lectures, posters and plenary sessions – to present the latest results in food research and innovation7 and to initiate international collaborations. Conference participants will learn about the most important food science innovations and cutting-edge technologies through plenary lectures, presentations at section meetings and poster presentations. The topics of the lectures include digitalization, food safety, nutrition and innovation, as well as various new results and research in product and technology development.
The conference also serves to develop industrial relations, as it is taking place with the participation of numerous domestic and international food industry and trading companies. Among others, Capriovus Kft., the developer and manufacturer of ToTu products, will also appear, presenting its latest research related to the development of its innovative products to an international audience.
– This year, we will strive to ensure that everyone can literally bite into our egg product innovations. Our latest protein-rich functional food developments include gummies, shakes and creams, but we are preparing to introduce our protein bars specifically for this year’s Foodconf. Participants will be the first to hold our egg white bars in their final form – said Dr. Csaba Németh, food engineer, university professor, who mainly deals with egg product innovation, and who will also be present at the event.
