German multinational Beiersdorf has invested €300 million to expand its production facility in Poznań, Poland, as part of its efforts to double its capacity to 500 million units annually.

The investment included the commissioning of six additional highly automated production lines and a state-of-the-art microbiology laboratory, adding 200 jobs in the process.

This expansion, completed in 2025, will strengthen Beiersdorf’s global supply chain, boost innovation, and support further growth.

The Poznań location was chosen for its efficient infrastructure, well-trained specialists, and stable economic condition, the company added.

The state-of-the-art facility, now one of the company’s most strategically important, supplies over 100 markets with Nivea, Eucerin, Atrix, Hidrofugal, and Florena skincare brands, as well as the regional brand Bambino.

Network Modernisation

This investment is part of Beiersdorf’s broader strategy to modernise its global production network, with recent expansions also completed in Mexico and Brazil, and a new distribution centre underway in Leipzig, Germany, that will start supplying the European market in 2027.

The Poznań plant, now running on biogas, is also a key element of Beiersdorf’s commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2045, with all European plants (in Germany, Poland, Spain, and Switzerland) now climate neutral.

The company continues to invest in sustainable technologies across its global operations, including photovoltaic systems and heat pumps.

Vincent Warnery, CEO of Beiersdorf, commented, “This significant investment fully underscores Beiersdorf’s growth ambitions by reinforcing our global manufacturing network and ensuring a reliable, resilient supply in a dynamic market environment.

“The capacity expansion is more than an operational milestone built on cutting-edge manufacturing. It is a long-term investment in the future of skincare and our local partnerships and the community of Poznań. It also demonstrates our clear commitment to sustainability.”
