The own branded products market is a 300 billion market
Almost every fourth forints that the costumers spent, went on the purchasing of own branded products last year. This is approx. 300 billion HUF – sets Nielsen market research company, on the basis of the retail turnover of 90 food categories.
The increase of own branded products is mainly due to the spread of discounts. The commercial brand products’ share ratio has increased from 21 percent to 23 percent in a year. "The general quality of commercial brands is as good as the quality of leading brands" – said the 59 percent of the respondents, who took part in the research. Almost a similar proportion agree that the look of commercial brands at least as good as the brands of the manufacturers.
