In 30 years, 350,000 tons of salty snacks were made at Intersnack’s factory in Győr
In the last 30 years, trucks have started operating in almost all European countries by truck, and the market share of flour-based products made here in the Central and Eastern European region is 11%. With this, Intersnack occupies a podium position in the regional market for salt sticks, pretzels and crackers. During the existence of the plant in Győr, it produced about 350,000 tons of salty crackers. Production began with the production of Stickletti salt chopsticks in the middle of 1992.
The choice of the location in Győr at the time was due to the good air transport between nearby Vienna and Frankfurt, so the specialists of the German parent company could also help with the construction and commissioning of the factory with their personal presence. The traditionally developed industrial culture of Győr, the proximity of the wheat and mill industry in the Kisalföld, as well as the extensive baking industry of the city also spoke in favor of the Győr location. The Intersnack Group of Companies operates nearly 40 manufacturing plants worldwide with different manufacturing profiles and regional markets. The main task of the factory in Győr today is to produce salted sticks, pretzels, crackers and crisps mixed from them for the markets of Hungary and the surrounding countries.
