Employment reached a new peak, 22,000 new jobs were created in the domestic primary labor market in one year, the number of public employees decreased by 7,000, and the number of commuters abroad was 14,000 more compared to the same period of the previous year, so the three-month average considered as a reference , that is, the total number of employees was 4,728,000 on average in May-July.
In the previous month, 67.6% of the 15-74-year-old population was present on the labor market, compared to the 66.7% activity rate measured in the same month of last year and the 67.7% level measured in the previous month. In the most recent month, the unemployment rate according to the international statistical methodology was 3.9%, after 3.8% in the previous month, and after the level of 3.5% measured in the same month of the previous year.
In July 2023, the register of the National Employment Service listed 227,300 job seekers, which is 4,000 fewer than in the same period of the previous year. In the month in question, a total of 32.9 thousand job seekers requested to be registered, of which the proportion of those registering for the first time was 13.2%. The number of new registrants increased by 18.6% compared to the same period of the previous year, but their number remains low. In July 2023, employers announced a total of 43.8 thousand vacant positions, so overall, 118.3 thousand job opportunities were available in the month, of which 83.1 thousand remained unfilled by the end of the month, after 74.5 thousand the previous month.
