Fertilizer turnover decreased by 27 percent
In March 2025, farmers received 27 percent less fertilizer from the monitored products compared to the previous month, and the turnover of the monitored fertilizers was also slightly more than a quarter lower compared to March last year.
In the month under review, the most popular fertilizer was lime ammonium nitrate (MAS), similar to previous months, with Nitrosol, DAM being the second largest item sold. 80 percent of the total monthly sales were made up of MAS and Nitrosol, DAM, compared to 86 percent a year earlier. The demand for MAS in the month under review decreased by 28 percent compared to March last year, while in the case of Nitrosol, DAM it was 36.8 percent below the level of the base period. End users purchased 6.5 percent more urea and 18.3 percent more NPK 15-15-15 than a year earlier. Half as much ammonium nitrate (AN) and a fifth more superphosphate were sold. MAP sales decreased by 15.3 percent compared to the base period last year. The ratio of ammonium nitrate to urea in the current month was 1:14, while in March 2024 this ratio was 1:10.
