SPAR’s logistics takes the next level with a 2.7 billion forint investment
SPAR Hungary spent more than HUF 700 million on the development of its logistics center in Üllő last year. This year, the company has invested around HUF 2 billion in a new transshipment center in Budapest, which will make the supply of its stores in the capital more efficient.
“For our chain of stores with 652 stores nationwide, the biggest daily task is professional logistics, through which we ensure that our products arrive at SPAR and INTERSPAR stores in good quality and on time. Currently, around 1,800 of our colleagues work in the field of logistics, 250 of whom are truck drivers. In this strategically important area, we also consider the coordination of goods transport tasks, workforce management and the development of the logistics supply system to be a priority task. Our company has made significant investments in recent years: we built a new transport complex in Üllő, which provides modern working conditions for our employees working here. This year, we established a new transshipment center in the capital and are further expanding our own truck fleet,”
– explained Márk Maczelka, Head of Communications at SPAR Hungary.
