250 tons of durable food will reach the needy before Christmas as part of the Food Bank’s fundraising campaign
This year, the 15-year-old Hungarian Food Bank Association also organized its Christmas Donation Collection in 2020. The aim of the action this year was not only to beautify the festive period, but also to alleviate the hardships caused to the needy by the protracted effects of Covid-19. As part of the collection on November 27-29, atotal of 250 tons of durable food was collected in more than 250 stores nationwide thanks to generous donations from customers. Nearly 6,000 volunteers from the Food Bank received donations at the collection points, which means nearly 50,000 packages for those in need before Christmas.
