ALDI reports 24.8% sales boost
The German retailer increased its number of stores by 9.9% over 2008, moving from 416 to 457 stores across the UK and the Republic of Ireland.
Aldi in the UK and Ireland saw its
total sales for the past year 2008 boosted to GBP2.15 billion.
Managing Director Paul Foley said that richer strata of society
(ABC1s) now account for 50% of Aldi’s customers, while seven years
ago the share was only 20%.
