Labor shortage can be an unmanageable problem by 2050
The decline of the working age population could lead to critical labor shortages in Europe by the mid-century. For 2050, the European continent will be the oldest region. 15 percent of GDP will go on pensions. According to the Flexibility@Work 2015 study of Randstad, the flexible forms of employment may mean a solution and in addition can also help to repress the black economy as well.
According to the Flexibility@Work 2015 study of Randstad, by 2030 the world's 27 countries, including Hungary will become old societies. In these countries, one in five residents will be over 65, while in 2050 18 percent globally, ie one in six people of the population will be in this age group. This means that by the middle of this century the proportion of the elderly population will be doubled compared, to 2010, while between 2015 and 2030, growth rate of the working-age group will be halved, compared to the previous 15 years.
