A recovery is expected from 2016 in the markets of the Balkans
New doors can open in front of the companies that are seeking to expand in the former Yugoslav countries. The situation of the economy is likely to recover in 2016, and increase is expected thereafter. The new entrants will have just enough time to detect distribution channels, to build out their marketing strategy and to thoroughly familiarize themselves with the new market – Export Co-operation’s (Export Kooperáció) regional analysis points out.
A shortage of working capital in the region
As a result of the global economic crisis, the local and foreign companies operating in the Balkan region were in a difficult position. The local firms particularly suffer from the lack of working capital and fundings, so they cannot be effective and competitive beside the viable new entrants. This is especially true in some sectors, such as some sectors of the retail trade.
