Rossmann begins 20 billion forint investment in Hungary – State-of-the-art semi-automated warehouse and head office complex to be built in Üllő
Rossmann is planning for the long term in Hungary, with the completion of a 28,000m² logistics centre by the end of 2025, which will be complemented by a 4,000m² office. The semi-automated warehouse – to be built from a HUF 20 billion investment – won’t just be unique in the Hungarian retail sector, but will also allow for further expansion in the future. The investment project will be carried out in Üllő, where the company is currently operating.
“For Rossmann it was of paramount importance during the planning process to leave as much green space as possible on the site. In total more than 100 trees and 5,000 shrubs are expected to be planted. The new centre will meet the latest sustainability requirements”, said András Farkas, project manager of the investment.
“The warehouse technology is a combination of the well-proven conveyor PickByLight and Voice picking supplied by SSI Schaefer”, adds Csaba Szuchy, logistics manager responsible for technological design and supplier selection.
