15.6% growth and HUF 915.7 billion turnover at SPAR in 2022
SPAR continued to stand steadfastly on the customers’ side, doubling the 7.2 percent increase in turnover in 2021 with promotions and initiatives that encourage frugal, fast and convenient shopping. Meanwhile, during the investments, renovations and daily operations, sustainability efforts came to the fore even more, which not only earned the recognition of consumers, but also won numerous professional awards. The company realized a turnover of HUF 915.7 billion in 2022, which is a 15.6% increase compared to the previous year.
SPAR Magyarország Kereskedelmi Kft., which was founded in 1990 and opened its first store in Tatán in 1991, operated 623 stores on 31.12.2022 and is one of the largest employers in Hungary with 14,000 employees. The domestic chain continued to develop and modernize its store network in 2022: two new stores were built last year, and eleven were renovated. The total value of the investments reached HUF 18.6 billion. The SPAR online shop can claim the largest expansion in its history so far, but the technological development of Regnum Húsüzemek and the introduction of the twenty-two new products that make up the SPAR enjoy in Anőlő are considered significant results. it was put on the shelves from a convenience store.
On 31.12.2022, SPAR Hungary operated 623 stores in various types of stores, 248 of them as part of its franchise program.
