Tesco delivered 150 million products in 5 years
Tesco Online Shopping is 5 years old. The home delivery service started in Budapest in 2013 and it is already available in 103 towns and villages. In the past 5 years Tesco delivered 20 million grocery orders to more than 500,000 addresses. Delivery men drove approximately 10 million kilometres to bring more than 150 million products to the doors of Tesco customers. On an average day Tesco does 1,650 deliveries – that is about 100 tons of products.
The most frequently ordered products are mineral water, milk, sugar, banana and cucumber. Tesco delivers the goods purchased between 08:00 and 22:00, from Monday to Saturday. Statistical data show that 85 percent of those who use the online shopping service are women, typically between the ages of 24 and 45 years. More than 60 percent of online shoppers use their Tesco ClubCard. (X)
