140 years of innovation: Mercedes-Benz Hungária strengthens in Hungary with product offensive and “Mercedes-Benz City” program
In the brand’s 140th anniversary year, Mercedes-Benz Hungária is strengthening its domestic presence with a renewed model range and a redesigned electrification vision: between 2025 and 2027, Mercedes-Benz AG will present nearly 40 new or fundamentally redesigned models, from the entry-level segment to the top range, with both internal combustion and electric drivetrains.
At the press event in Budapest, the company highlighted the strengthening of the position of the Top-End Vehicle segment and the increase in the proportion of xEV models, in addition to its growth goals. According to the announcement, passenger car sales increased by 8.7% in 2025, sales revenue increased by 11% from 2024 to 2025; every third vehicle sold belonged to the Top-End segment, AMG sales within TEV were 20%, and purely electric models accounted for 9.1% of total sales.
The domestic “umbrella” of the anniversary year is the three-month “Mercedes-Benz City” program: part of this is the free exhibition of the Mercedes-Benz Art Collection, which can be visited between May 28 and August 30, 2026 at the Merlin Theater. The brand’s new “WELCOME HOME” slogan was presented by Fabiola Attorri at the press event; the announcement also recalls that Carl Benz registered the Motorwagen patent in 1886, which the brand considers the starting point for modern mobility.
