14 works honoured at the Hungarian POPAI Awards
POS-POP tools competed for the fourth time last year in the organisation of POPAI Hungary Association. Entries were evaluated by the participants of the Business Days conference in Tapolca’s Hotel Pelion between 25 and 27 September 2013.
Entries competed in four categories – Durable, Non-durable, Small-size, Digital – and it is noteworthy that 71 percent of the solutions came from POPAI member companies. Category winners qualified for the POPAI Global Awards international competition, which takes place between 16 and 20 February 2014 in Düsseldorf (after the current issue of our magazine went to press). But now back to the Hungarian competition: on 7 November 2013 almost 100 people gathered for the year’s last Trade Marketing Club meeting in the BKIK building. POPAI Hungary’s general secretary Ildikó Kátai told that competing POS-POP tools were given points from 1 to 5 in the following evaluation categories: overall effect and efficiency, technical concept and realisation, originality and innovation. Three works were rewarded in each of the four categories, Origo Zrt. awarded a special prize for digital solutions and the main supporter of the competition, FM Logistic Hungary Kft. also honoured an entry with a special award. The POS-POP tool that scored the highest walked away with the ‘Display of the Year’ title. Non-durable category: the bronze medal went to Béflex Zrt.’s MIZO corrugated cardboard product presentation, OSG Form Kft.’s Mamba display got the silver medal and the category’s winner was Unilever Magyarország Kft.’s Rexona F1 installation. Its movement sensor voicebox feature made this entry a special one – not only in the competition but in stores too. This work took home FM Logistic Kft.’s special award as well. Durable category: all three tools on the winners’ podium were manufactured by Béflex Zrt.! The Vodafone product display stand got the bronze medal, the silver medal winner was Heineken’s display with lenticular decoration and the gold medal was given to the Nestlé Dolce Gusto tasting display. It was of great help to hosts during in-store tasting sessions and the special design strengthened the brand’s image. Small-size category (tools smaller than 100x100x100cm): 3rd place – Béflex Zrt.’s Omacor countertop display; 2nd place – Win-Store Média Kft.’s scented NIVEA shelf flag; 1st place – STI Petőfi Nyomda Kft.’s Soproni beer multipack display, with its Fire Watch Tower or Hungary map design the carton solution, containing three bottles of beer, communicated both a Hungarian and a brand image. Digital category: this was the first time that POS-POP tools competed in the digital category too, and in one way or another the three best solutions are connected to SPAR. The bronze medal’s winners were Greenroom Marketing Kft with. frisshus.hu and Win-Store Média Kft. with the Recipe Printing Kiosk. The runner-up was Win-Store Média Kft.’s SPAR digital twin towers, which also took Origo Zrt.’s special award. Gold medal winner and ‘Display of the Year’ became the spartravel.hu complex microsite and Facebook app from REON Digital Kft. The page had almost 1 million views during the 3-month campaign related to the Kappa suitcase in SPAR’s seasonal loyalty campaign.
