Individual farms and corporate enterprises purchased new agricultural machinery and equipment worth 221 billion forints in 2025, which is a 12 percent increase compared to 2024. However, there is a 23 percent shortfall compared to machinery sales in 2023.

In addition to the sales of new machinery, which depend on the availability of support funds, parts sales have shown a continuous increase in recent years. The machinery market is still characterized by waiting, purchases of new machinery are delayed or postponed, and farmers focus more on maintaining the existing machinery. Machines are becoming increasingly complex, parts have replacement periods, and the need for service is increasingly significant. Repair also includes digital settings and software updates. Farmers spent 98 billion forints on the purchase of spare parts for the operation and repair of machinery in 2025, which is an 8 percent increase compared to the sales of spare parts in 2024. In the examined period, 67 percent of the sales of imported and domestically produced agricultural machinery and equipment to end users were carried out by ten distribution organizations, of which 48 percent of all agricultural machinery sales in Hungary were concentrated in the hands of the three largest machinery dealers. In 2025, the share of the top ten companies and the three largest enterprises did not change compared to the previous year. In the case of spare parts, the top ten distributors participated in satisfying market needs to an even greater extent (81 percent). Agricultural producers spent 106 billion forints on the purchase of power machinery in 2025, which accounted for 48 percent of the total value of agricultural machinery investments. Within the power plant investments, tractors represented 56 percent and grain combines 18 percent, while within the total sales, tractors represented 27 percent and grain combines 9 percent.
