Lidl helps 1,000 families with Christmas packages
Lidl Hungary wants to make the Christmas of families living in difficult circumstances more beautiful this year, so it invited its customers and social media followers to join forces. The charity initiative was a success and a total of 1,000 families will benefit from Lidl’s non-perishable food donation, which will be delivered to those in need before Christmas with the cooperation of the Baptist Charity Service. The parcels go all over the country, including to Tiszaújváros, Debrecen, Zalaszentjakab, Galambok, Petőfibánya and Budapest.
Social responsibility is extremely important for the supermarket chain, and with its programs it tries to create value in the communities where it operates. As a responsible company, Lidl has been doing a lot to support underprivileged children and their families for years, and its Christmas fund-raising campaigns have a long tradition.
This year, through the charity campaign called Lidl Magic Tickets, the company’s customers and social media followers contributed HUF 400 to the discount chain’s non-perishable food donation with each game they played, and they also won valuable daily and weekly prizes. The activity, which took place between November 28 and December 18, 2022, had nearly 8,100 participants, as a result of which Lidl’s food packages reach 1,000 needy families with the cooperation of the Baptist Charity Service. The packages worth a total of HUF 4,500,000 will be distributed before Christmas, i.e. until December 23 at the latest, in Tiszaújváros, Debrecen, Zalaszentjakab, Galambok, Petőfibánya and Budapest, among others.
