10,500 school children received school supplies from the Auchan collection
10,500 children were able to start this school year with appropriate equipment thanks to the collection of Auchan and the National Association of Large Families (NOE). Customers donated more than last year, so their help solved the financial difficulties of buying school supplies in 3,000 large families.
This year, the school supplies collection was organized for the seventh time in the twenty-four Auchan stores. The purchased school supplies were accepted at the store collection points until August 25, which were once again delivered by the National Association of Large Families to those families with several children where the start of the school year is an insurmountable financial problem.
Compared to last year, more donations were collected this year, when 10,200 children received equipment out of 119,811 school supplies, and now packages were put together from 122,700 school supplies. Thanks to the collection, 10,500 children in 3,000 large families could start this school year with complete equipment.
The start of the school year means extra expenses everywhere, so the department store chain would like to thank its customers for offering more than 122,000 school supplies to needy children in just over two weeks. The company also supports the work of the association with an additional HUF 1 million.
Auchan’s employees also took part in the successful collection, helping with the organization in addition to their work, and NOE 1290 volunteers also helped with the collection and distribution.
