Self-driving cars are tested for food delivery
Cruise Automation, a subsidiary of General Motors (GM), which develops self-driving cars, has teamed up with the DoorDash food delivery company to jointly test the driver-free food delivery – origo wrote.
While there will always be a driver in the automotive Chevrolet Bolt EV during the test period, he will only intervene in an emergency, and the car will mostly drive itself.
The test program is first launched in San Francisco.
GM wants to focus on the market of self-driving cars in the future: they would manufacture their own cars and operate them in the fleet. (origo)
