Nébih calls attention to the import ban on meat
The National Food Chain Safety Office (Nébih) again calls attention to the ban on imports of meat products after African swine fever (ASP) virus was detected in pig meat sample from Ukraine confiscated at the Záhony border station.
According to its statement sent to MTI on Wednesday, the agency said that the African swine fever virus is resistant, it is infectious for many months in frozen meat and non-heat-treated meat products. For this reason, products imported from infected animals and imported illegally into Hungary pose significant risks. (MTI)
