Domestic watermelons will be on the market by the end of June
The spring warmth resulted in the beginning of each product’s ripening two weeks earlier, so the domestic watermelons will be on the market by the end of June.
The expected yield of watermelons is around 192 thousand tons this year, which is about 5 percent below the 2017 figure – was said at the press conference of the National Chamber of Agriculture.
The domestic producers will export about 40 percent of this amount. The neighboring countries, as well as Germany and the Baltic states are the significant outlet markets.
