The EU wants higher tax on tobacco products
An at least a 5.4 percent increase in the excise tax on cigarettes in Hungary would meet the expectations of the European Union – Falcsik István tax consultant told Világgazdaság. An EU study suggests that the price of tobacco products to be further raised by health policy makers.
Hungary has still failed to comply with the European Union’s directive that by the end of 2017, the excise duty on tobacco products should have been increased by 29 percent, compared to the 2016 price level. (vg.hu)
