The slaughter of domestic pigs in the Czech Republic’s focal point for African swine fever in the part of the eastern Moravian Zlín region was ordered to prevent the spread of the epidemic – Petr Majer, spokesperson for the Czech National Veterinary Inspectorate (SVS) announced.
On Wednesday, the Veterinary Inspectorate decided that all pigs should be slaughtered before the beginning of December, in over 40 square kilometers of farms. Exceptions to this are only pig farms operating in line with the breeding law. (Kokes János, MTI)
