Consumers are confident in the world’s largest economy
Consumer sentiment improved in the US in February – according to the usual monthly survey of the University of Michigan. The preliminary results were published on Friday.
The consumer sentiment index rose to 97.6 points from the 95.7 points of February, while analysts expected 97.0 points.
Among the sub-indices, the consumer expectations index for the next six months increased from 85.7 index points to 86.7 points, while the indicator reflecting the current situation rose to 114.5 points from 111.2 points. (MTI)
