Zwack: distilled spirits consumption decreased

Turnover and profits decreased at Zwack Unicum Nyrt. in the first quarter of the financial year.

According to the flash report of the company; gross turnover decreased by 23.1 percent to 5.13 billion HUF, before tax profit decreased by 32.8 percent, to 697 million HUF. This is 3.1 percent behind the pro rata plan.
The report shows the two major factors of  the decline in domestic sales. The distilled spirits consumption fell to an unprecedented degree this year, in April and May. Another reason for the decrease is that in June last year early purchases were made, due to the increase of the excise duty – reports Privatbankar.hu.
