Tourism in the Czech Republic declined in the second quarter
In the second quarter, 988 thousand guests stayed in tourist accommodation in the Czech Republic, which is an 82.9 percent decrease year-on-year, the Czech Statistical Office in Prague said.
The number of guest nights was 2.6 million, which is a decrease of 81.7 percent. The downturn has hit the sector due to national government restrictions imposed as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. The most severely affected region was Prague, where the number of tourists accommodated in the second quarter was 93.6 percent lower than in the same period of last year. (Kokes János, MTI)
