Business tourism decreased
A significant part of the companies saves on different conferences, congresses and events, because of the crisis. The hotel and event centers experienced a 15-40 percent drop in corporate events during the past year.
Particularly the companies delayed events with no direct commercial interests such as welfare events, team-building trainings, meetings and family days, or professional trainings. Usually hotels give place to these events. Their cancel very seriously affected the domestic hotels – said Kopócsy Andrea, the president of the Hungarian Hotel Association. An average decrease of 40 percent has occured in the market of business events, compared to last year. Business tourism gives the 30-40 percent of the turnover of the 4-5 star hotels – reports Világgazdaság.
