Decreasing producer prices in agriculture
The agricultural producer level in May 2009 decreased by 21.7 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. The price of vegetable products decreased by 28.9, the price of live animals and animal products decreased by 4.3 percent.
In May this year, the producer price of cereals decreased by 38.5 percent, compared to 2008 May.
The producer prices of oilseeds decreased by 4.8, potatoes by 13, vegetables, by 6.3 percent. While the price of tomatoes increased by 12.1 percent, the price of green paprika decreased by 9.8 percent in compared to last year's May. The producer price of fruits decreadsed by 33.1 percent.
The 2.3 percent increase in the producer prices of meat, came from the 9.4 percent price increase of pork and 7.9 percent price increase of beef – reports Central Statistical Office.
