Róbert Zsigó promises serious control of margin restrictions
We will protect families and pensioners, we will prevent unjustified price increases – emphasized the Parliamentary State Secretary of the Ministry of Culture and Innovation in a video uploaded to his Facebook page.
Róbert Zsigó said that the government has been negotiating with representatives of retail chains in recent days, asking them to voluntarily reduce their profits. However, the final offers fell short of expectations, which is why the government is implementing the second step of the action plan developed against price hikers.
The State Secretary called it unacceptable that in the recent period, for example, the margin was 40 percent in the case of eggs, and more than 80 percent in the case of butter and sour cream.
“That is why we are introducing an official margin from mid-March, and in the case of 30 basic foodstuffs, the margin of traders cannot exceed 10 percent”
– emphasized Róbert Zsigó.
