From Ransomware to “Pig Slaughter Scam” Visa’s recent report draws attention to the most common frauds affecting consumers and businesses
Visa has released the spring 2024 edition of its semi-annual International Fraud Report, which highlights the most common payment threats affecting consumers and businesses worldwide.
“Criminals never go on vacation. They are constantly coming up with new ways to swindle people out of their hard-earned money. Our report draws attention to increasingly organized and sophisticated fraud attempts, which target the most vulnerable point in the payment ecosystem, people”
– said Bence Sármay, head of Visa Hungary.
Criminals are increasingly using modern technologies such as AI, voice cloning and AI chatbots to trick consumers into transferring money to them under false pretenses.
