The government promises an undisturbed food supply, and small shops are also being taken care of, they say
The Ministry of Agriculture has always had a great responsibility for what goes on the shelves of the stores, since the ministry’s competence really extends from the farmland to the table – said Minister of Agriculture István Nagy at the European Trade Day event on Monday, according to the ministry’s announcement.

The government plans to support small shops
Despite the war and the sanctions crisis, the Hungarian food supply is undisturbed, even in small shops in the countryside, and the population is protected by the price cap introduced for certain foods
– was highlighted in the announcement.
The head of the ministry reminded that trade shows how all the work done by a farmer and then by a food industry enterprise is utilized. Consumers are looking for the given product, or it remains on store shelves. He added that consumers expect to be able to satisfy their everyday needs by purchasing products of the highest quality at the lowest possible price level with as little effort as possible. According to István Nagy, the existence of small shops is particularly important in order to strengthen the ability of the region to retain residents. If there is no shop, sooner or later there will be no village, he said.
