From Zamárdi to the top of the world: Carly’s gin&tonic became world number one in London
The Hungarian beverage manufacturer achieved unprecedented success at the 2025 World Drinks Awards in London. The Carly’s brand, mango-passionfruit flavored, pre-mixed long drink, Carly’s gin&tonic Mis/fit Mango, from the Zamárdi-based Zimek Pálinka Manufaktúra, won the World’s Best Premix Spirit&Mixer 2025 title. The award was presented on the evening of June 4 at a gala held at The Waldorf Hilton hotel in London.
The Hungarian manufacturer made history as the winner of the premix category: no domestic brand had ever achieved such a high ranking in this prestigious international competition, which received 2,000 entries from more than 60 countries around the world, in 80 categories.
Carly’s was among the world’s leading beverage manufacturers – alongside global brands such as Bacardi, Fat Adam’s, Matsui and Roku – and was the only Hungarian manufacturer to reach the finals with two products.
The Carly’s brand is registered by the Zimek Pálinka Manufaktúra, which is led by owners Bianka Czomba and Zsolt Beliczay, and Albert Sárospataki, known from the show Cápák között, also joined the circle of owners.
The couple received the award in person in London. Carly’s gin&tonic Mis/fit Mango was produced in 2022, the recipe was developed based on Czomba Bianka’s idea, and was subsequently included in the Hungariancool program in 2023, and then on Hungarian shelves.
The Zimek team debuted in the television show Cápák között in 2024, where it was recognized as one of the most successful investments in the show’s history. Following their appearance on the show, Carly’s products gained national recognition and, within a year, achieved outstanding results on the international stage.
Following the London gala, the Carly’s team presented the awards at the Hungarian Embassy, and discussions began regarding export opportunities to the United Kingdom.
