In Zala County the average yield of maize exceeded 7 tonnes
Harvesting of maize in Zala County is completed, with an average yield of more than 7 tonnes in the area of 34 560 hectares – the county president of the National Chamber of Agriculture (NAK) informed MTI on Wednesday.
In the past year, the average yield of maize in Zala was 7.99 tons per hectare, while in 2015 and previous years on average 6.5 tonnes per hectare was harvested.
This year almost 244 thousand tons of maize were produced in the county, the quality of the maize corresponds to the expected parameters – Süle Katalin said. (MTI)
